‘Griha Pravesham’ is a Hindu ceremony which is done before shifting to a new house in order to cleanse the place. All the poojas performed during Griha Pravesham helps to bring good fortune. It helps to please the planets and the Gods.

The Priests are very highly knowledgeable to cast the right mantras with right pronunciation of the mantra formulas. These priests are masters and have performed the Homams and Poojas for generations. Hindu priests are very special persons. IMING:
The Nakshatra of the Wife/ Female Family Head who is going to live in the house is considered to fix the date. The “janma nakshatra” &
“chandrashtama” of the people involved is generally avoided. Griha Pravesham is also not done when the lady of the house is conceived. No moon days and Tuesdays should be avoided for this ceremony. An auspicious month gives better results to the family.
PURPOSE & BENEFITS:
Griha Pravesham is inevitable ceremony as it drives away the doshams or ill-effects already existing in the house. Such doshams can bring numerous problems to the family. We will be blocked mentally and physically. It is a procedure of cleansing the new place which might be also a shelter to the negative energy which can bring trouble and miseries to the dwellers. Therefore, living in a house should be considered only after all rituals are complete as per the procedure given in the scriptures. It creates a sense of well being with the effect of the vibrations from the mantras and wipes out any trace of negative energies . It is believed that a place which remains abandoned for long time is occupied by evil spirits, so we must perform Griha Pravesham to restore the positive energy and peacefulness at house.
